Hello Sunfish Families,
It’s that time of year again!
On behalf of the Sunfish Board, we would like to personally welcome you all back for the 2011 Summer Season. The Board has been working diligently over the winter to promise yet another exciting and fun filled year. We are delighted to announce that Jacquie Bascombe will be our Head Coach for swimming this season. Jay Thompson will be our Head Coach for Water Polo. This is the time of year when we look forward to making new friends, renewing old friendships and reacquainting ourselves with our cherished Sunfish Family. We cannot wait to return to our weekly swimming routines and we look forward to seeing you all soon!
We are again offering an early registration discount for those who register and pay in full by APRIL 10th, 2011. (Please see attached fee schedule). Early Registration provides the VP of Coaching with a good estimation of the number of returning swimmers. This ensures that there will be adequate coaching/swimmer ratio.
New Members please provide proof of birth; a photocopy of your child’s Care Card or Birth Certificate and please provide your Physician and emergency contact information.

Third and subsequent child in family receives $50.00 off their membership.
This year we are again offering a payment plan, which consists of 4 post dated cheques. The cheque dates required are: April 10, May 1, June 1 & July 1, 2011. All cheques MUST be received on the date of registration.

Parent Information Night
Meeting Wednesday, April 27, 7:00pm @ ND Recreation Center
In addition to swimming, we have many activities planned throughout the season so we ask all members to attend our annual parents’ meeting on April 27 @ 7:00pm @ North Delta Rec. Center. This is an opportunity to meet the coaches and receive your group schedule for practices.
Fundraising
ALL members are required to pay a $100.00 per child fundraising fee. You will have many opportunities throughout the season to raise funds to earn back your fundraising fee! In mid September each family will be issued a cheque for the total they earned during the season up to $100.00 per child. We have planned many exciting and fun activities to assist our members in their fund raising efforts, such as…a pub night, our annual bottle drive, cookie and meat orders and mile swim as well.
Volunteer Requirement
The Sunfish are a volunteer organization that requires parents participation throughout the swim season. Volunteering can be fun as Sunfish parents are a friendly group! Each family is required to volunteer for the Club a minimum of 20 hours throughout the season. 8 of those hours must be carried out at our home meet. If you are not attending the home meet, you can help us with 4 hours of pre-meet duties that fit in with your schedule. Many of your volunteer hours can be carried out at the pool while your child swims (examples: timing at swim meets, filing, ribbon sorting, handing out fundraising orders, bottle sorting etc.).
Swim Suit Orders
This year we will be introducing an exciting new club swim suit! These will be unveiled and available to order at the parent meeting. The earlier you order in the season, the better. We will also have swim caps available for sale as well as other exciting Sunfish merchandise.
Bring a Friend “Week in MAY”
We encourage all swimmers to bring at least 1 friend to "Bring a Friend Week" during the month of May! The joy of swimming & our coaching staff will hopefully entice your child's friends to want to join our AMAZING Summer Season.
